Rubber Core Sleeves

Elastomer Engineering has manufactured and supplied Rock Core Analysis Sleeves to the oil extraction industry for over thirty years. Rubber types include:

  • Nitrile (2 grades)
  • Hydrogenated Nitrile
  • Fluoroelastomer ‘B’
  • Fluoroelastomer ‘GF’
  • Polyurethane
  • Natural Rubber
  • Neoprene
  • Viton Extreme® – a trademark of DuPont Performance Elastomers
  • Perfluoroelastomer

A rubber hardness of between 70-75 IRHD is normally recommended for sleeves exposed to solvents and high temperatures and pressures. Softer grades of around 60 IRHD are used for ambient analysis, rock mechanics measurement and core preservation. Types of rubber are selected to withstand the eluting solvents and high test temperatures. Many sizes of sleeve can be manufactured in a wide choice of compounds, featuring moulded porting and electrodes as required.
